Our Founder
Since 2008, Ta-Tanisha Thomas, has nurtured both her family and her dreams in the heart of Music City. Inspired by her own experience abroad, she left corporate America and founded Nashville Flying Dress to empower women through the art of photography. Her journey is a testament to the power of following your passion and celebrating the strength within every woman. Through it all, she remains deeply connected to her community, proving that with wisdom and heart, it's possible to achieve anything.

How do I reserve a Nashville Flying Dress photo session?
Reservations for Nashville Flying Dress photo sessions are reserved here on our website. A session package includes a flying dress, photographer and digital images; upgrades and amenities can be added. Due to the popularity of our photo sessions, we strongly recommend a lead of three weeks or more.
Can I rent a dress only (no photoshoot included)?
Our stunning flying dresses are only offered with photography sessions scheduled through Nashville Flying Dress.
What size are your flying dresses?
Our dresses fit most women US dress sizes from XS to 2X. The girl's dresses fit US sizes 6 - 14. Our dress collection transforms to fit most, but if you are concerned about fit, schedule a call to discuss more.
How are the dresses cleaned?
Nashville Flying Dress is partnered with local cleaners to sanitize the dresses after each use.
How much does a flying dress photo session cost?
Photo sessions start at $499 and will vary depending on the package selected, duration of the shoot, props as well as amenities added. A $200 per person deposit is required to reserve the dress color and photo session date. Transaction fees apply.
Can I choose the location?
Absolutely, but if you don't have a location in mind, our photographers can suggest one of the most picturesque areas of Nashville. Also, keep in mind that areas outside of the Nashville metro area and certain locations (i.e., Cheekwood Estate & Gardens), will result in additional fees. Location and address are confirmed prior to session.
What time of day is best for a photo session?
Nashville is a popular destination! As a result, we offer early morning makeup and photography sessions to help reduce the number of people in the background. We aim for the "golden hour" but can take photos any time of the day. Of course, the schedule may also depend on the season of the year, as well as the session location.
What amenities are available?
Nashville Flying Dress photography sessions include a flying dress and photographer. We offer concierge scheduling to include the following amenities: travel arrangements, makeup session, videography, horse or car rental, balloons, transportation or other add-ons to make your vision for the photo session experience come to life. What happens after I book a photo session?
After the reservation and deposit are submitted, Nashville Flying Dress will confirm the reservation date and time, the dress color, location and additional services, if applicable.
What if I am running late or need to reschedule?
In the event you need to reschedule your photo session, you'll notify Nashville Flying Dress in writing 7 days or more prior to your appointment. We respect your time, and photo sessions end on schedule. We retain the right to cancel the session and forfeit the deposit should you arrive 15 or more minutes late for your photo shoot.
How many photos will I receive?
Images from the photo session are provided in digital format. The number of final edited or retouched photos is determined by the package selected. Package upgrades for video, additional photos, retouching and/or prints are available.
Do you offer couple or group photoshoots?
Yes, we can accommodate requests for a spouse, child or other family and friends appearing in the photo session. Schedule a call to confirm rates for groups of four or more people.
Can I bring props?
We welcome you to bring all the props that make your vision for the session a true representation of your personality. Please note that some locations don't allow props. We'll confirm when we discuss your session.
What should I wear for the session?
Plan to arrive 25 to 30 minutes early for your session to change into the flying dress color of your choice. Wear clothes that are easy to change out of or put back on, undergarments that match the color of your dress, stylish comfortable shoes, your best model behavior and smile!
Where do I change into the flying dress?
For your convenience and privacy, we offer a portable dressing room for each experience. The dress assistant is also available to help you style the dress when it's put on and during the photo session.
What happens in the event of inclement weather?
If the forecast for the day of your photo session is inclement, we'll contact you 24 hours prior for a possible change of location or to reschedule.
